Welcome to "Exploring Prevention Ethics in Your Organization’s Services"
Thank you so much for taking time out of the important work you do to take this online training. This training is designed to help you assess how the ‘Code of Ethics for Certified Prevention Specialist’ is supported by your organization. This training is approved as a required ethics training for those seeking to become, or are working to maintain, the Certified Prevention Specialist credential.
This training will build upon your knowledge of the ‘Code of Ethics for Certified Prevention Specialist’ by providing the opportunity to thoroughly examine how each of the ethics principles is applied to your work based on the systems created by your organization. In this training we will:
- Review the ‘Code of Ethics for Certified Prevention Specialist’
- Conduct an organizational assessment
- Identify strengths your organization has in place that support the ‘Code of Ethics for Certified Prevention Specialist’
- Identify potential solutions to improve areas in your organization
Successfully Completing the Training
This training is expected to take 5 hours to complete. Participants will have seven days (7) to complete the entire five (5) hour training online with the guidance, assistance, and feedback from a trainer. To successfully complete the training participants must:
- Conduct an organizational assessment
- Complete each required activity in the modules
- Pass the post test with a score of 75% or better
Intended Audience
This training is for prevention professionals who have already successfully completed an introductory training on the Code of Ethics for Prevention Professionals. This training requires you to have working knowledge and understanding of each principle in the code of ethics.
Training Goal
Participants assess how the Prevention Code of Ethics is used throughout their organization’s prevention services.
Training Objectives
After your successful completion of this training, you should be able to:
- Align examples of prevention scenarios with the appropriate principle.
- Conduct an organizational assessment of how the Prevention Code of Ethics is applied in prevention services.
- Provide specific examples of how the prevention code of ethics is supported within your organization.
- Provide specific examples of how the prevention code of ethics can be strengthened within your organization.
Overview of Modules in the Training:
This training is expected to take 5 hours to complete. After completing all of the modules and required assignments, you will be eligible to receive a certificate for 6 Continuing Education Hours from the New Mexico Credentialing Board for Behavior Health Professionals.
